This full-scale printed plan of a Weissenborn hollow-neck acoustic lap slide guitar is beautifully drawn. It includes a fret slotting chart, materials list, bracing pattern & more. Weissenborn guitars are a unique style of acoustic guitars what have a hollow neck that is actually part of the body. The design adds some challenges to building a Weissenborn but it also simplifies the process as it cuts out the need to shape a neck. The fingerboard can be fretted or 'fret lines' can be inlaid into the fingerboard as the frets aren't used during slide playing. The Style One is the simplest Weissenborn model and has no body binding and a basic rosette. It is easy to make the guitar more elaborate by adding binding, inlay or a more intricate rosette.
